Jackson’s Wade Norris has been honored as the Tennessee Master Logger of the Year by the Tennessee Forestry Association.
Norris was presented the award at the Tennessee Forestry Association annual convention in Oak Ridge in October.
At the ceremony, David Mercker, extension forester with the University of Tennessee, recognized Norris for his dedication to sound conservation and timber harvesting practices, as well as his top-notch safety record and outstanding reputation for working well with landowners.
Recognized as a community leader, Norris and his wife Tammy are successful business owners who strive to meet landowners’ expectations while harvesting timber using practices that enhance wildlife habitat, protect water resources and minimize visual impacts.
